Science Fair Slime

Our science fair project was slime.

Our slime failed most of them but had a little success for the yellow one

but the rest had a Failure because we added too much borax

How to make a Homopolar Moter

Hello would you make a homopolar motor?

Materials you need:

  • Neodymium magnets.
  • AA battery ( Any type).
  • Copper wire.
  1. First you gather the materials
  2. Then you cut the wire to about 10-15 cm
  3. Twist the wire and attach it to the battery and add a little hook  to the top.
  4. Connect the Magnets to the battery
  5. Last watch it spin only if you connected properly

If it doesn’t work try changing the battery? or change the or the battery is drained

The Science

When the electrons travel through the wire near the Magnet’s field, they experience a special  push  or shove called Lorentz force. This force acts like a tiny sideways nudge, trying to push the electrons in a specific direction.

In a Homopolar motor, the wire is usually shaped like a loop. Because the Lorentz force acts on the electrons throughout the loop, it creates a force that tries to rotate the entire loop around the center of the magnet. This is like lots of tiny pushes all working together to spin the wire.

Dragon Eyes

Dragon Eyes

On Friday afternoons, we do Action Stations. This term, I chose to make Dragon Eyes.

First, we read some descriptions of dragons and identified their characteristics.

Then we completed a planning sheet, considering what we wanted our dragon to be like. We thought about personality, color and features.

I decided I wanted my dragon to be very intelligent, grumpy, red shimmering eyes, sneaky, breathes fire, loves scaring people, fierce, very mean, only comes out at night, shimmering scales.

After, we used the clay and I rolled the clay to make the eye ball around the pupil and squished the clay to make flat eye lids on the eye. I made little pointy bits on the edge and I carved pieces of clay to make a good texture on the dragon eye. I decided that I wanted my dragon eye to be black, red, orange and yellow.

Finally, we painted them.
